Bartender charged with drug offenses at Kingstown Port

Wayne Bacchus, a 23-year-old bartender from Arnos Vale, was arrested and charged by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force for possession of a controlled drug and drug trafficking. The arrest took place on Monday, May 6, at the Kingstown Port, where Bacchus was allegedly found in possession of 514 grams of cannabis with the intent to supply it to another person.

Appearing before the Serious Offences Court on Tuesday, May 7, Bacchus pleaded guilty to both charges. For the possession of a controlled drug, he was fined $200.00EC to be paid within two months or face three months imprisonment. Additionally, he was fined $400.00EC for the drug trafficking charge, with the same conditions for payment or imprisonment.

The police also issued a destruction order for the confiscated drugs, as per their press release from May 7.
